If both BOB and BOS are already  qualified or unable to attend then the invitation is offered to the reserve of each sex  starting with the same sex as the BOB, should all these be unable to accept then  there is no representative from that show.

Samoyed Puppy of the Year: An invitation is extended to the Best puppy in  Breed at each Championship show during the year, should that puppy be already  qualified or unable to attend then the invitation is offered to the Beat opposite Sex  puppy in Breed, should all these be unable to accept then there is no representative  from that show.

Competitors in both sections are given a subsidised entry and in order to fund this  an auction is held during the evening, and the society raises money throughout the  year by means of raffles etc.

  METHOD OF JUDGING

There are several rounds to the competition and the format are designed so that  should the best dogs meet in any round they can still progress ensuring that the  judges choice of the best dogs are in the final round.

In round one the competitors are placed into eight groups ( number in each group is  dependant on total number of qualifiers ) and are placed in the groups by random  draw, the judge then selects two dogs to progress to the next round, these  competitors then draw a card which denotes the group they are in for the next round.

In round two we are left with four groups of four dogs, again the judge selects two  from each group to progress and they draw a card to denote the group for the next   round.

In round three we are left with two groups of four dogs once again the judge  selects two from each group to progress to the final round.

In the final round the last four dogs compete and the results are announced in  reverse order.

I the Puppy competition there are normally less qualifiers and therefore it starts  with four groups then follows the same system as above
